Flagler Beach makes a statement at NSSA East Coast Regional Championships

bannerThis past April 4-7, New Smyrna Beach hosted the 21st NSSA East Coast Regional Championships with over 500 participants competing, some traveling as far as New Jersey.  The overall solid 2-4 foot wave conditions made it possible for some series talent and style to be showcased.

Among the standouts, Flagler Beach had five competitors that brought home hardware with 12-year-old Robbie McCormick making a huge statement claiming titles in both 12 & under Open Boys and Explorer Menehuene divisions. robbie McCormick

Eric Worley, the veteran, and local ripper placed 3rd in Explorer Masters, Dylan Martin carved out a 4th in College Men’s for Daytona State, Dylan Prestwood brought home a 4th in Explorer Longboard and new comer and this month’s Flagler Surf Star Hannah Blevins finished with a 6th place in Explorer Girls.

All 5 surfers now qualify to attend the upcoming NSSA National Championships at Huntington Beach this June.

High Fives and congratulations to everyone who competed and are dedicated to the sport of surfing!
