Christmas Come True has finally found a little home and it’s in Flagler Beach!
Christmas Come True is a nonprofit organization started in 2009, who for the past 2 years has helped Flagler County families by providing Christmas dinner, new clothes, gifts and filled Christmas stockings. This past Christmas with the help of gracious donors and volunteers, 86 families and 255 children were blessed with the complete Christmas experience that they otherwise could not afford.
Christmas Come True would like to extend even more services to the community by starting the second part of their mission. “A Frame of Mind”. It is more than just an office, it will be a center where the founder and her amazing volunteers will be planning the events for Christmas Come True. It will be a collection and disbursement center filled with information about other non-profits in Flagler County.
This creative community environment will promote a network of not-for-profit organizations, make available local products and services, and be a retail space for local artisans and authors. “A Frame of Mind” will be a think tank to explore new ways to save money, get a job or start a new business. A networking of people, work and experience with an emphasis on the sharing and giving of knowledge to bring clients a higher level of happiness and family success.
Many events are being added to the schedule, such as Michele Catalano’s Wearable Art Class. It will be held in two different sessions, Wednesday, March 23 & 30th and Thursday March 24th & 31st. The cost is $45 per session and will run from 6-9 p.m. There will also be local authors offering book signings, like Bonnie Bostrom with sculptor Jean Baliker, March 16th from 4-7 p.m. Tim Baker will be there April 1st for First Fridays.
On the retail side there are many items for sale including Stonewall Kitchen Specialty Food items such as gluten free pancake mix, waffle mix, maple syrup, jams, jellies and more. There is also an assortment of hand soaps, lotions, and soy candles.
“We are so excited to have the opportunity to help local artisans and authors and as a bonus each sale helps us raise money to help families in Flagler County” says founder, Nadine King. “We want to be a welcomed addition to historic downtown Flagler Beach.”
“A Frame of Mind” is located at 208 B South Central Avenue. (across from City Hall and The Flagler Beach Historical Museum)
