Christmas in the Country

$8The Florida Agricultural Museum will present a three event on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, December 17-19. “Christmas in the Country, 1864” is a Civil War Reenactment which will involve a number of living history groups from around the southeastern United States. Among them, the Connecticut 17th Infantry Regiment will be looking forward to Christmas, furloughs, waiting for letters from home all in the hope of news that the war’s end is near. The Union soldiers will be trading with Confederates under a holiday flag of truce. Candlelight tours will be conducted on Friday and Saturday evenings. Historic camps will be open during the day on Saturday and Sunday. Walking shoes are recommended.
Presentations about Civil War Era Florida will be given on Saturday, December 18th beginning at 2 pm in the Caldwell Dairy Barn. Traditional music of the period will be performed on Saturday evening from 6-9 pm.
Please join us for this fun and educational event. Admission is $8 per person, $6 for Museum Members. Sensible shoes are recommended. Regular museum tours will not be given on the days of this event.
