Gamble Rogers Memorial State Recreation Area at Flagler Beach will host a guided beach walk on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 9:00 a.m. The walk will depart from the day use beach side of the park. You may check in at the ranger station to pay the entry fee.

Participants will take a leisurely stroll down the beach and learn significant features of beach habitat as well as the history of the terrain, natural communities and ongoing activity that occurs on the beach. Participants will also discover the native wildlife, learn about the importance of the vegetation found along the coast, examine different types of shells and discover the value of seaweed.

Participants are recommended to protect against sun exposure and heat conditions. Special accommodations are available upon request. To make arrangements, please contact the park prior to the event.

The cost of the event is included in the regular park entrance fee of $5.00 per carload of two to eight people, $4.00 for one person in a car and $2.00 per pedestrian or bicyclist.
