I have been living on Island Time…
The phrase “I’ll get around to it mon” said with a thick Jamaican accent replays over in the backdrop of my list of things “ima gonna do.” But as I keep raising my hand to volunteer, it’s time to get my pencil and start crossing items off the list…again…
But first a reminder of why life is good…Friday night my family and I brushed the sand off our trusty Radio Flyer wagon and loaded it up with all the things we might need in case our journey lasted more than a fortnight…kidding…but we do pile it up.
We headed to town to see the sights with ice cream on the brain. First, we walked a few laps at Relay for Life held at the Wickline Center. We also noticed a bunch of kids at the park and later found out the Flagler Beach Montessori School was hosting a parent’s night out. Mom’s and Pop’s get to drop their kiddos off for a few hours so they can get some alone time. Then we headed on over to the Waffle Cone so I could live out my fantasies of large scoops of creamy coconut ice cream smothering my taste buds and dancing with my sweet tooth. Our journey’s end was wrapped up at the Beanery for some melodic tunes by local folks.
It makes me happy to see Flagler Beach alive…
