Yesterday, Li’ P and I loaded up the golf cart with our surfboard, towels and went to the beach.
Except… this time we ventured up town to where the people are…and I ‘m so glad we did!
Because we met two super cool folks that build sandcastles just for fun…and their castle was perhaps the best one I have ever seen in Flagler- totally awesome! Jim and Susie Henderson from Shelbyville, TN come to stay in our little paradise several times a year. They spend quality time on the beach just building away- no plan, some favorite kitchen tools and a good time. They started their castle making with their daughter roughly 11 years ago and elevated their skills after meeting a women in Destin, Florida, who had mastered the art of building stairs. Skies the limit since…even one time turning out a masterpiece that resembled Hogwarts Castle– that is some talent. And now they get to show off to their friends that they met some crazy lady with her daughter who loves to talk to interesting strangers- and I ‘m so glad I do. It was a pleasure to meet you both! Cheers and perhaps our paths will cross again! 🙂
But my day didn’t end there…since I was wondering the sand talking to strangers I figured that I needed to have a chat with this guy in the very cool Pabst Blue Ribbon look-a-like– Surf Station T-shirt. Not to mention he also was holding a very big camera pointed in the direction of the peak firing off the south side of the pier. My victim- Angelo Gemo, a production student from Flagler College…his subject: Seth Convey from Ocean City, Maryland. Thanks to both of you for making my day a little more interesting and hope you shot some great footage!
Pardon my photos- as I only have an iPhone – which means my pictures look very far away- 🙂
